map-presidential election-1912
CALIFORNIA : not regular Taft ticket. In order to vote for Taft, it was necessary to write the name of his 13 electors. Under these circonstances, the Taft popular vote, 3638, was negligible.
* OKLAHOMA : majority of republican electors in favour of Roosevelt, the others for Taft.
* SOUTH DAKOTA : not Taft ticket, but a republican ticket made up of Roosevelt electors. In both states, the total popular vote in favor of Republicans is credited to Roosevelt in the map as in the total national figures.
In Virginia, for reasons of clarity and overall coherence, the Independent Cities are combined with the counties from which they arise.
